Snapchat Car Crash Results in Felony Charge

Posted on June 7, 2016

Social media use by teen drivers while driving can be a deadly combination. Distracted driving often results in car accidents, which can severely injure drivers and their passengers.

Recently, the Georgia teen driver involved in a high speed car crash while using Snapchat was arrested and charged with a felony.

The 19-year-old driver was allegedly recording speeds of more than 100 miles per hour on Snapchat’s speed filter app when she slammed into another vehicle, seriously injuring the driver.

In addition to the charges, the family of the injured motorist is suing the young driver and Snapchat to pay for medical bills, although the case is on hold while an the investigation proceeds.

If you or a family member has been injured in an Iowa motor vehicle accident, contact the Law Offices of Stoltze & Stoltze PLC for help. We conduct thorough investigations of car accident cases to determine causation and identify liable parties so you can get the compensation you need.
